2023 BC Masters Cup

****RECENT UPDATE****

HOST HOTEL AND WEIGH-IN INFORMATION

1) Host hotel is the Executive Airport Plaza (7311 Westminster Hwy, Richmond). Any coaches/athletes wanting to stay there can call and book a room under the group code "Taekwondo BC" ($199 to $249 + taxes, depending on room type)

2) Junior and Senior only: Weigh-ins for local (and any out of town athletes who want to weigh-in on Friday) is at this host hotel - Boardroom C from 5:00PM to 7:00PM

3) Weigh-ins for out of town athletes will occur on site at the Richmond Oval on Oct. 7

Join us for the 2023 BC Masters Cup on Saturday, October 7th in at the Richmond Oval. The event will feature a variety of exciting competitions and activities, including Poomsae, Sparring, and an opening ceremony.

Schedule:

8:30 am: Doors Open

9:00 am: Coaches briefing

9:30 am: Poomsae competition begins

11:30 am: Opening ceremony

1:00 pm: Sparring competition begins

Admission Fee: Single - $5

Family - $10 / 6 years and under free

Sparring Equipment

All competitors are required to bring a chest protector, headgear, groin cup, mouth guard (clear or white only), arm/shin guards, and white Taekwondo uniform (Black Belts must wear WT-approved uniforms for Sparring and Poomsae. Please note that all braces (top and bottom) must be covered with a mouth guard. The headgear colour must match the chest protector (white & black acceptable). All Black Belts 12 & older (BIRTH YEAR) will also require gloves and KP&P E-Socks. THERE WILL BE NO RECREATIONAL SPARRING DIVISIONS SO ALL BLACK BELTS 12 YEARS OLD AND UP MUST HAVE KP&P SOCKS. Poomsae Equipment

All Black Belts 12 & older will require an official WT poomsae uniform.

Sparring Rounds

Black Belts - Best of 3 rounds / 2 minutes / 1-minute break between rounds. Colour Belts - Best of 3 rounds / 1 minute / 30 second break between rounds. The tournament committee reserves the right to change the number of rounds and/or duration as needed.

Rules

Current WT Rules Apply to all Black Belts 12 years old and older. All colour belts - no head kicks allowed. Under 12 black belt - no head kicks allowed. 12 & up (cadet, junior, senior) - head kicks allowed.

Weigh In

Weigh-in information will be given out soon.

Awards

Medals will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place and participation finishers.

Qualifications

In accordance with the WT Taekwondo Federation of B.C. Constitutional bylaws.

PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE A  800 COMPETITOR CAP FOR THIS EVENT.

THERE WILL BE NO RECREATIONAL POOMSAE AND KYORUGI FOR BLACK BELTS 12 YEARS OLD AND OVER.
